Australian Football League (AFL) club memberships are more than just season tickets to watch your favorite team play. They are a cornerstone of Australian culture and a deeply embedded tradition in the world of sports. For many fans, owning a club membership is a badge of honour and a demonstration of unwavering loyalty.

Memberships are a vital source of revenue for the clubs. They help maintain financial stability and allow clubs to invest in player development, facilities, and community programs. The more members a club has, the stronger it is, both financially and in terms of its support base. For many supporters, purchasing a membership is seen as their way of contributing to the club’s success and ensuring its sustainability for future generations.

AFL club memberships are much more than just a ticket to watch a game; they are a symbol of identity and belonging. For many fans, their connection to a club starts at a young age, often passed down through generations. It’s not uncommon to hear stories of families supporting the same club for decades, with membership cards being cherished keepsakes.

Most clubs are again on track to break their club membership record in season 2024. Carlton currently appear to lead the tally, just shy of 105,000 members after a making the preliminary finals, however we are yet to get accurate numbers from reigning premiers Collingwood who may already have passed their 2023 tally of 106,470.

West Coast have also passed 100,000 members once again, their fifth season in a row. Despite struggling for form this season and languishing at the bottom of the ladder, Richmond might also nudge the 100,000 mark again
