The Trailblazers

We are now already almost half way through the 2019 AFL Premiership season and it’s time take a look at each of the clubs membership totals in comparison to last year. With a few clubs still yet to release their totals so far for this season, the total club members would be well over a million.

Richmond continue to lead the pack in membership numbers, already eclipsing their record total of 100,726 members from last season. While reigning premiers West Coast are yet to release their numbers, one would suggest they have surged into second position after their 2019 success.

The Crows appear to be well ahead of last years totals, with over 12,000 more members prior to the season, however they were accused of fudging the numbers by former Port Adelaide star Kane Cornes.

UPDATED 13th August 2019

The AFL has recently released all the membership numbers for all 18 AFL clubs. As suspected, grand finalists Collingwood and reigning premiers West Coast were among the biggest movers, with 11 clubs record their all-time highest tallies.

The Adelaide Crows appear to have fudged the numbers they released earlier in the season, failing to reach last years total.

We have updated the table above with the latest membership numbers.

The Battlers

Carlton supporters continued to buy in on Brendon Bolton despite a poor 2018, surpassing 60,000 members. However, after just one win so far this season, Bolton was sacked after round 11.

The GWS Giants continue to slowly build their membership base after three successive years of finals footy, while the Gold Coast Suns struggle to make any inroads eight years after their record membership in their debut year.

Stay tuned for updates on membership numbers as they are officially released across the season.
